Blackjack is a famous casino game also known as Twenty One or Pontoon. It is probably the most recognized game offered at casinos and online. Despite its popularity, it is still one of the games avoided by visitors who are not familiar with its mechanics and rules. The objective of the game is simple: to get a total value of twenty-one points or values close to twenty-one but not exceeding twenty-one from two cards per hand. In order to win you need to beat the dealers hand by higher value but not exceeding twenty-one.
Understanding some basic rules when playing Blackjack is important. Once you learn them, keep on practicing and inevitably you will master the game. So here are some simple tips when playing Blackjack:
If your first two cards total value is eleven or less, always draw another card.
Whatever the card the Dealer is showing, always presume that the Dealer has a hidden ten card.
If the card on your hand totals from twelve to sixteen, consider it as the “danger zone”. Even if you stand or draw, the winning hand depends on what the dealer is showing.
If the dealer’s hand shows the values between seven to an Ace then you should draw unless you have cards over sixteen.
If the dealer’s hand shows the values between two and six, don’t draw another card. There is an exemption to the above mentioned rule, if you have a twelve and the dealer is showing a two or a three, draw one more card.
If your cards on hand total the value between seventeen and twenty, never draw another card. You are only allowed to draw another card if you have a soft seventeen or eighteen. A soft seventeen or eighteen are cards containing an Ace and a six or seven.
If you have a soft seventeen or eighteen it is advisable to draw if the dealer has any cards with the values nine to an Ace.
When it comes to betting, bear in mind that you are betting that the dealer will get a Blackjack or a twenty-one.
These are just some simple tips to understand the game. But to completely learn the game, you have to play it firsthand. And to master the game it just needs a lot of understanding and practice.
